Here’s to your health!

This is an especially appropriate toast when you choose your wines from Personal Vintage.

The benefits of drinking wine have long been recognized. Rich in anti-oxidants and polyphenols, wine consumption has been attributed to the so-called “French Paradox.” That is, although the French eat a lot of rich, high fat foods, they have an extremely low rate of heart disease. This was discussed on Channel Nine’s Sixty Minutes which was aired on Sunday 6th March 2005.

Many medical reports have shown that moderate consumption of wine (especially red wine) is beneficial in reducing the chance of, among other things:
· heart disease
· certain cancers (including prostate, digestive tract and breast cancer)
· Alzheimer’s disease (up to 75% reduction) and dementia (up to 80% reduction)

However, although many people love wine and recognize its health benefits, they find that drinking wine may cause, heart burn, headaches, rashes or sinus. This may be from sulphite sensitivity. Sulphites are a natural preservative in wine. While avoiding sulphites altogether is impossible, as it is naturally produced during fermentation, the handcrafted wines made by Personal Vintage, contain much lower levels of sulphites, than most commercially made wines. Consequently, people who find they can no longer drink commercially made wines, may have absolutely none of the side effects, from drinking Personal Vintage Low Preservative Wines.

Personal Vintage has over 20 varieties of low preservative wines, including the more common varieties of red, white, sparkling and port as well as special blends, some of which are limited edition releases. The list also includes oak aged wines and a dessert liqueur.
